About the ECRM
The European Cancer
Research Managers Forum was created in 2001. The aim of
the Forum is to improve cancer research in Europe through
better coordination and cooperation between EU Member States,
candidate and associated countries, and international research
organisations.
The goals of the forum include:
• Conducting
a survey of activities and facilities in current European
cancer research
• Organising workshops on selected topics of broad general importance in
cancer research. For instance, workshops on biological samples, best practice
in research management, the development and potential of emerging technologies,
as well as legislative and legal issues affecting cancer research and development
such as use of tissue banks and clinical trials.
• Harmonisation
of legal/regulatory frameworks
• Communicating
Cancer research policy
• Improving
flow of good information to the general public
• The Forum
will use this website as a communication and information
tool to achieve these goals.
